Exclusively Setters

Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World

As an interim measure until the official register provided by the Kennel Club is fully up and running, the SEISC has decided to offer an opportunity for owners to post their recent PRA rcd4 DNA test results.
This will be on our PRA rcd4 page.
This is available to all owners worldwide not just SEISC members and will be in a similar format to that already used by the Kennel Club.

For further details please see the Club website www.seisc.co.uk.

Listing will be available sometime today - slight kink in my "html"  !!

Good news Susan.....I'm very happy for you and of course, your beautiful dogs...
Very pleased that you are happy with your results Susan;o) And super delighted that Glen is a clear;o))

i have the results from houston its bad news he is a carrier

atron limitd edition x charmain of the trav lin star

yes i now but i thing the breeders when they breed they use clear dogs

i feeling sad its so a nice dog whit good hip and no problems

yes mel i am verry verry happy that girly is clear

i think oder problems in ower ras are bigger than the rcd -4

but its good that breeders testing they dogs and take they responsability

To Reiky,       as Mel  says ,      a carrier   is not     such bad news

thank you silke

and wilko its was a stress time the waiting and hopeing.

i was verry sad yesterday that the vet call me the resulds

but i go now

for testing charmain and peter promsid me to do jack atron limitid edition

and than we see where its com from.

i go all so do jewel and rhea and that we see

Neither I can remember if I have ever joined a discussion, but so many people concerned now and those many Carriers with sad owners ... I agree with Silke, Wilko, Sue and Mel, all who trying Rieky make not that sad about Huston. We will need the Carriers in the future to avoid a higher inbreeding and yes they must not be thrown away as Wilko says, but people thinking different about it. And on the other hand we must admit Carrier dogs can not be breed to Carrier bitches and it will narrow the field down a lot. Breeders with Clear bitches will think twice if they use a Carrier stud, while they would use the same dog without hesitating if it is with Clear status. How you think? Will Carriers be used in future as often as they were before the test, I am afraid they won't.

I don't mind using a Carrier but I won't be able if I have a Carrier bitch. I think that is what Rieky was thinking about when she went dissapointed...

My current litter having an Affected sire will be Carrier in the best case, can't wait for the result of their mom, do hope she is Clear. Being a special litter to my heart with gorgeous puppies I was going to keep a boy and girl too. Now with the information in hand shall I keep a Carrier dog puppy, will he ever be used at stud? I can't use him as I only have his mother and granny. Will he be thrown away?

marta i never joined a discussion my englishe is to bad

but yes i am sorry for you and i hoop the mom is clear

i agree we need the carries in the future, but when i can coise between two beautifuls stud dogs

and the pedirge are good, between a carrier ore a clear dog, i take the clear dog

and that was what i thing wen i cat the results.

but houston is for me, and that is important my   best frend he is always whit me, i love him, soo he is.
