I agree with a lot of what you are saying!! Sad but true! But as you have said also there are a good number of honest judges(just wish to see a few more of them in Ireland!!)

Hihi
I'm having a nice little laugh to myself!!
We have all of that over here too; and yes even the 'hackney' movement winning, at the moment here in Belgium!
But some judges just don't know better, have never seen proper movement!
Here a 'hackney' mover can even win a group!
What's the solution..??

Trouble is they see so little good correct movement that when they do, they automatically think it must be wrong. Either that or their not judging the dogs anyway so it doesn't matter about movement or the dog fitting the standard.

sorry, i just had to join to comment, although i don't have any connection to "irish" irish setters - yet :-)
Michelle, you 'forgot' 2 things which are popular in Europe at least: smaller or bigger presents and money in envelops, even done in front of the eyes of other exhibitors....

OH...MY...GOD...Politics, a dirty word whatever it is connected with. I have been judging (well a few times) breed a few litters......unfortunately, too old for the rest of the other things, everything has gone south, not a pretty site, I really don't want to sleep with any of the judges, (same reason,) too damned old, so I don't stand a chance, unless the judge was blind, AH perhaps that could be the problem...Oh, and I don't have any money for presents or envelops, (don't get enough in my pension).....full of money, Oh dear I think that I am wasting my time for Saturday.... Still I can have a nice lunch....if anyone will let me sit at their table??? AHHHH

Now girls do I have to tell Ronny to watch out that either he'll be drowned in envelopes or dragged into I don't know how many beds????????????????
