Same here, you have to qualify your dog at a open or novice field trial, not aware of any 'just qualifiers' here in Ireland for Pointer and Setters. Although clubs are allowed to organise a qualifier day for show dog only as well, but this didn't happen over the pasr few years.

ah ok but even the qualifier day doesn't happen here, always amateur trials with working cac; though now one or two clubs want to bring in 'novice' trials rather than the 'amateur' trials; which would mean that dogs over 2 would have to go into 'Open' stakes and try and get at least a CQN there, rather difficult as the judges are more severe on the Open stakes;

Well while you are all running around getting ready for Clonmel to-morrow, I was off to a Field Trial to-day with my Robin 'Ardbraccan Noble Spirit at Trawricka' and guess what - He Did It - He Qualified in the field!!! I'm so pleased and proud of my boy;
Enjoy Clonmel, I'm off to another Field Trial to-morrow;
Can some-one keep the results posted from the Circuit shows?

Well done Frances and Robin!!!! Wont be going to Clonmel after all, as Kennels too busy!! A good reason!! But had only Abbey entered and she has plenty of other shows in the future months and years as she is still only a wee thing!!;o))

I am so jealous about Clonmel and the other Circuit shows I would be driving down to Clonmel now and will then be off to the cottage the day after. I will be waiting for all the results, Good luck to all entered at the shows, hope that the weather holds out for you and have a good time one and all...
