It is a privilege to have known her and been able to spend many moments with her, also to have owned some of her stock and been able to breed from it. She shared a lot of her knowledge with me over the years. Sadly Miss Sybil Lennox (Hartsbourne/Brackenfield) who will be fondly remembered and respected by all of us in the breed, died yesterday(14th July) after a short illness aged 88.

Sorry to read this. Good memories of her visit here and meeting her old stars before, in '87 in Matlock when Hartsbourne Ashley came over. Able to revive the great Irish setters in more than half a century, herself breeder of keydogs.

Dear Catherine, thank you for sharing the sad news with us. Sybill Lennox was probably the last 'old-time' breeder around - a very sad loss. Brackenfield/Hartsbournes have had such a big influence on the breed and I am sure you will continue her lines. My sincere condolences to family and friends.
