Fun watching family preparing for field trials

Fresh flown over from Canada, Giulla watches family preparing for the European championship for working Irish setters in France. He takes the front seat for a good view of his home soil, the Netherlands.

His sister Giulla R. and mother Redwing White Lightning (Clancy) enter fields in an industrial area.

Nearly at the same time, mother and sister point.

Off she goes, sister Faerie Tail (Liz).

Sister Fay takes the lead in this couple.

Ha, my turn. What will be the next landscape to enjoy? My owners fly me all over the world. At home I have my own river, but ok this is fun as well.

Sounds a pretty enjoyable life ! Amazing how some people won't venture out of their own home town, yet dogs fly all over the world!

Thanks Myra and Susan for some attention in the middle of Crufts chats.

Meanwhile the Dutch team for the EC to be held March 22th in Sarry, France was chosen it is Pallas Green Graton Lad, Pallas Green Ginney, Pallas Green Gina, Redwing White Lightning, Fay O'Conloch (reserve). These also participate in preceding trials for under more the Swiss CACIT.

A record entry of Irish (r&w) setters ran in trials in Chassart, Belgium, last weekend.

Worldwide now, working enthusiasts come into spring trial fever also thanks to the Red Setter Club of Italy, recently launching a dvd on the EC 2008 with stunning music like on Apaches while Apache runs. All participators are filmed. Especially the winner Urtis makes red setter fanciers hearts beat louder!!!!

Thank you Henk for keeping us informed with what goes on in your part of the field! Crufts was memorable this year as we were able to enjoy meeting so many different people from so many different parts of the world BUT it is also interesting to hear and see what you got up to !

Thats nice to read Catherine. I do follow Crufts news and look for that one who might be able to perform in fields as well. By the way we also trained in Zeeuws Vlaanderen at the home of a Hartsbourne fan:-) There are quite a few fanciers hoping some day will see a fantastic looking and performing Irish setter again. His old bitch Elan showed youngsters how to hold a point, for twenty minutes!!!

Looks like the dutch team are ready and raring to go:-)))) Go for it! and keep us updated, please... or at least a link to where we can follow what is happening with pictures and results being published.

So where can we get hold of this video?

Its off to France for training now, Susan and Petra.

Nature tells our possibilities. Temperatures low means no growth so no hiding places in open fields for partridge, only feathers to score on in spring trials. Temperatures higher (say above fifteen degrees) means perfect trialing grounds. So lets hope for a sunny Spring perfect for setters!!!

The video is made by people from the Red Setter Club Italy, a classic for me already. I will try to make some visual entertainment but not easy when trialing I'll do my best. About competition - well every participator has a price already - its enjoying spring with your setters!!!!
