Do the judges have to give a written critique about your dogs performance at the trial.Do they indicate what your dog did or didnt do to be awarded excellent?

Thank you for all your kind comments!
Colette, yes, at the end of the day the judges give a detailed critique of all the dogs in the awards. Glen was praised for his intelligent ground treatment, wide range, very good speed and excellent point and steadiness. He was downgraded to very good for having a heavier gallop in comparison to the working type dogs. I know that. But I am very happy with his grading, as he was in the highest range of a 'very good' with 15 points (in Germany they work on a points system, but please don't ask me to explain...;-))

Susan,
Thanks for sharing your fabulous photos of the Field Trial and also for the information about it as well. Good to get news of the 'working' Setter world.
I have also viewed your 'own' blog photos which show more from the Field Trial.

Fantastic Susan !
Big congrats to your boy - you know what I think about him...hm hmmmm.
The trial system is the International FCI trial rules that has
excellent 16 - 20 points
very good 11 - 15 points
good 6 - 10 points
While GOOD is a rather poor result and most handlers don't like to have it written in the book, a VERY GOOD is already something to be proud of. To get the highest points in that is really nice too !
EXCELLENT is the class, where the a dog can get near the so much wanted certificates (CACT or CACIT), but again, he should be placed on the higher end of scala to talk about that.
A written critic "should" be given;-))) Normally published in the club news...many months later.

Hope I manage to send this now, last entry didn't show up...

Thanks for giving the details, Christiane!
Now I need not hunt for rules & regulations about the points system;-)

As you can imagine I am very very happy with this result!
