Hi all
We are calling him Cashel or just Cash. He has settled in great and has only seen one level of the house so far. Napping off the family who came to see him already! He looks to be quite bold compared to Dublin. He already was humping my son even. Nick is 16 so this wasn't a little one by any means. Do you think that is just in play? Dominance? Figuring out where he stands? Not used to that in the first hour :)
I put up a couple pics in the picture section, more later since we drove six hours and I am exhausted. Just wanted to share that the day finally came.
Wish Cash a great start in his new family!
So glad that you are happy now.
That humping thing, our Anton did this to his sister when he was 13 weeks old. The vet said not to worry about it, and Anton grew out of it.
Oh good to know. He cried all night that little bugger. Our last two slept fine and I wasn't expecting such a loud chorus all night. And don't you know after I gave up and hit the showers, I come out and he is curled up in bed sleeping with my husband for three hours! Glad someone slept. My 16 yr old has finals this week and he went off to school in a sleep deprived haze. Poor kid. Not sure they state accepts new puppy in home as an excuse for poor performance grades! He trembled all the time and often it's cold but I do think he is nervous. Hopefully he will settle in soon. I did put a couple not so great pics up in the picture section already.
He looks really sweet but a bit mischievous I think??? congratulations on your new baby, So pleased for you. Have you tried a cage for him to sleep in and to put him in when you are out for a few moments, Fin took to his really well, he sleeps in there all night, and when he first came up stairs to bed, I had him in his cage next to my bed and if he started to cry/whimper I would just put my hand down, fingers through the bars, and gave him a scratch, he settled really well, I have used this method for my last four puppies..and they like having their own space.
As for the humping lets hope that they grow out of it!!!! Eh...
We now have three crates. Three sizes. Friends brought over two smaller ones since ours is for a full grown one and we didn't have the divider for it. He wasn't kenneled before which might be why he isn't taking to it yet. But of course I have to contain him at night and when we have to go out. Although he just seems to be a cry baby right now. And wow I forgot how they pee and poop so much! I am outside like every 20 min if he isn't sleeping. But they made housebreaking easy since they used a litter pan with alphalpha something or other. So they gave me some to put in the yard and he goes right to it and pottys.
He is so cute Susan, Hard to believe Hawk was that little last year. Never had a problem with Hawk sleeping at night he sleeps in bed with me. He never got up had to wake him every morning. He still sleeps all night. I know I am really lucky.
