Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
As someone who has had my ups and downs with setters over the last few years, namely the death of my beloved Eva in 2009, I would like to say that people on this site have been gorgeous to me, supportive, helpful and kind. Particularly I would like to mention Dawn Riddell and Sue and Cash, who gave me a friendly ear in my very early days after my loss. And also to Mrs Dee Farndell for giving us our wonderful Ollie, who has changed and brought sunshine and happiness to our lives. Also to any members of Ollie's family who are on here who have his litter mates. It's always been reassuring to know that he isn't the only one to destroy blankets, chase pigeons, try to steal our dinner and have a vendetta against socks! Given that Eva was such a quiet puppy (unknown to us because of her illness) Ollie has almost been like having a new dog for the first time ever. It's been a joy and I wouldn't change it for the world. So for all the poo pooers, au revoir and arrivederci...I'm here to stay!! I love setters, and anyone who has ever owned one knows the fun and joy they bring to our lives (and the grey hairs) and if people choose not to enter the world of owning one of these gorgeous reds because of a few difficult posts then I feel sad that they will miss out but glad that I can be a member of such a wonderful community of reds.

Oh thankyou Nicky, you're very kind. I'm so glad Ollie has filled the void left behind when you lost Eva. I'm also glad he's giving you all the fun and love that Irish Setters are so good at. Aren't we lucky to have them.

Thank you Nicky. I found solice when I lost Dublin in 2009 here as well. And I am thrilled to hear Ollie has filled your heart again just as Cash has filled ours. How boring would it be if they didn't attack socks and sneak a tid bit off a plate. While I envy a perfectly trained, well behaved dog I have to admit that the "cheeky" (as you all would say) ones are my favorite ones.
Here I sat combing out burrs from Cash's coat once again, and I realize that it's worth every stroke. He had fun, he was running with glee through all the overgrown fall weeds knowing Mom would untangle his mess of a coat like she always does.
Oh and can I please add. No where on the internet will you find a better collection of photos of irish setters. No where!
And fabulous video also. That is my favorite thing here.
