Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
Today was a really good day, and I'd like to share it with you.
I went to pick up an abandoned English Setter bitch that had been rescued Friday by a lady who couldn't keep her. I was supposed to pick her up (I was closer than anyone else in our unnoficial setter rescue mission) and evaluate the situation: physical and mental condition. Then tomorrow a friend should pick her up to go to a temporary family, until a suitable owner was found.
I found a very thin girl, with a…Continue
Here is a sample of our weather in Ohio. Two weeks ago the temperature was in the single digits Fahrenheit with over a foot of snow on the ground (that we'd accumulated in only a few snow falls). Then last week, the temps soared to the mid-60's f and melted all of the snow, leaving a warm but muddy mess! lol This week, we are back to single digits with a wind chill factor of 10-15 below zero, and more snow is on the way! If you don't like our weather in Ohio, just stick around a couple of…Continue

1. Make sure you are going to be warm enough to stay out far longer than your human wants to be outside.
2. Run as much as you can so that…Continue

LIFE AFTER EPILEPSY ABBIE`S STORY
The story of “ Kenmilfore red pepper” D.O.B. 7th. May 2004
In October 2003 my grandson died at 8 months, this left a very large hole in my world. I had been considering getting an Irish setter for some time and in July 2004 I got Abbie to help fill that gap.
(maybe not the right reason to get a puppy).
I saw a litter advertised in June and arranged to go and see them. I arrived at a lovely country house with a…Continue
Romã has always been a very shy girl. In fact she was so shy as a pup, I decided I should keep her and not one of her brothers, out of fear of what might happen to her in the wrong hands.
For the past 3 and a half years, we continuously worked on her socialization and her confidence in dealing with new people, of all ages and genders. Very slowly, she became more confident near strange people, but crowds and children screaming have never been her favorite thing. She adjusted quite…Continue
In December, we had wonderful snow - so Joy and I went out to have some fun and I brought the camera with. It all started with a harmless walk through the forest and Joy's long gazes into a small nature reserve, where often deer graze and herons fish in a small pond:…Continue
