My Wanda turned 10 years old on Friday the 20th of March.
Happy birthday my dear!
You are still young as a puppy and you have been one of the best huntingdogs ever. Hundreds of grouses have been shot with your help and you have spred out the word of irish setter being an exellent hunting dog to hundreds of clients.
When seeing you work many hunters have wanted a setter like you for a hunting companion.…

We had to share the tasks this weekend. We were in front of a dilemma: to take part at the same time in the dog shows of Wieze in Belgium and Neukirchen in Germany. Finally, thanks to our dear friend Philippe Deram, it was decided: Fletcher and Heaton would be in Wieze, Frisbee and Gracelynn with Neukirchen. And it was a master stroke.
CAC Wieze (B) - Juge: Mr. V. O'Brian (IRL)
Heaton of McBirdy (and Annie Cheron its mistress) continue their training. Heaton is classified…

We did it! Timmy is now CH Captiva Gold Sovereign, JH. My very first hunt title : )
And he did it in style, scoring 9-9-9-8 to get his 4th pass and JH title, and then getting 10-10-9-9 for a bonus leg. 10's are the maximum given in any category, I'm so proud of him!!!!!!!

Lupin is very healthy, happy and bouncy, but sadly, and with heavy heart, I bring you the news that she prematurely lost her eight puppies, the first one, just 30 hours before being released from quarantine. One baby survived for 24 hours, with small feeds every one and a half hours around the clock, and we cared for him at home in a portable humidicrib with oxygen.Sadly, his lungs would not have been…

Ok, now that I've shipped off my two old girls from foster care I'm ready for another. This Saturday I go to pick up my new foster! She is a 4 year old Gordon that is 99% blind. She is not, however, as big as the Gordons we all think of. She is very small, only about 35 pounds. She is out of the Springset kennel. They say she is wonderful and has hunting championships and that no one can even tell she is blind. Can't wait to get her. Wish me luck.

No brilliant results, no photos!! But Abbey's first show was great for all the right reasons(she had a brilliant fun day!!)
Was delighted with how she behaved in the ring having never been in one before, and also her first time indoors!! She was a perfect puppy for me!! She was 2nd in her class and graded very promising(good enough for me!) But the rest of the day was super, she did lots of meeting and greeting both 2 legs and 4 legs. She would have gone home with everyone she met!! She…

As I had told you - my camera equipment got 'lost' on our last trip to Scotland. Well no way that I could stay without it, so I got myself a new one. Here is the result.
