Home for Irish Setter Lovers Around the World
I was greeted at 5 am with a "snowdrift" in the kitchen ! Don't you just love them when they do this!! Have to say though, it was not the Irish. Muddy, our Labrador, is thinking about going in to labour, so cannot really blame her even.

I thought it was appropriate to acknowledge my beautiful "Nome" today, as he was named after the place near the Arctic Circle, connected with the famous Iditarod race. This annual event begins today, to mark the "Serum Run" of 1925, and is testament to the endurement, team work and complete trust between dogs and man.
Nome arrived early in 2004,and has been a great ambassador, breeding and showing,…

After a break of fifteen years, QANTAS flew two, day flights out of Perth, Western Australia, to the Antarctica - a round trip of twelve hours. It was the most amazing experience, and one to cross off the "bucket list!" I thought I had taken about 1500 photos, but my husband told me to stop exaggerating - I had only taken 1309!!…

It's a very happy life at Amhurst - we are whelped in the spare bedroom where we spend the first three or four weeks. Then we go into the nursery area and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. Plenty of room to explore and play.…

Well the week in England, came and went very quickly, with about 1000 miles covered across the countryside. Cruft's,Northampton, Southampton, Bath, Castle Combe and many other beautiful and magical places.
My sincerest Thanks to Claire for looking after me admirably. Her generosity knows no bounds. The bottles of Moet consumed bears testimony to just some of what I had to endure!!!!!!! Still, as they say, "someone has to do it!!!"
Great to catch up with people and friends from…

The last twelve months has been a very sad time, in that we lost five of our special Irish, Scandal, Daizel, Maisey, Remmy, and just last week, Ghillie.
We have had so many wonderful years with them all, and I "Thank You" girls for the privilege of having you all as mine.
Run Free and Sleep Tight ......until we meet again...XXXX…

John and I were fortunate enough to be invited to the State Reception, in honour of the visit to Western Australia, by Her Majesty The Queen, and His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh.
The Garden Party was held in the beautiful grounds of Government House, and the weather could not have been more perfect.
We were extremely lucky, and probably one of the few who were able to meet both The Queen, as well as The Duke.
Some people may not realise that Her Majesty has a…

Incredibly, it is now over two years since Lupin's frozen semen litter was born, and Wednesday she presented us with a beautiful bouncing litter of ten.
The sire is our lovely young dog from Joanne Day, in New Zealand, Briongloid Malachy T'Amhurst, so the babies are three quarters Swedish breeding and a quarter UK.
Looking forward to keeping you all posted on the new Lupelina's, and starting the New Year on a happy and positive note.
2011 was a year fraught with a number…

Amazingly, nearly two years ago, the Lupelina babies made history, by being born here, in Western Australia, from Swedish frozen semen.
Claire Prangle (Heathclare Irish) in the UK has just stayed…

Some of you, have very kindly asked about news of the frozen semen, to Guerin and Lupin.
As you must have guessed, neither took, which has been a huge disappointment.
BUT, as we all know, the chances of it taking, in spite of everything being technically correct, are usually quite slim.
So.....as they say, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again! That is where we are now, contemplating another go at it. Wonder if I have rocks in my head!
The next…

Well.....Guerin is looking and acting as if "with child," but the ultra sound was inconclusive, so.....we now have another nail biting, anxious week, before I take her back for a second scan.
BUT, another good omen, is the super news of the sire of this very important litter, Struan...Shenanagin Scholar with Braidmount JW (UK), yesterday winning Best In Show, at the Irish Setter Breeders Club Championship Show, over a wonderful entry. Hearty Congratulations to Mona and Will on your…
