Nollynook Irish Setters

Profile Information

How many Irish Setters do you have?
Three - Aust Ch Linleymvorne Huntsman (Fionn); my shadow-girl Shadowvale Flashov Magik (Maia) and my lovely imported princess, Garden Star's Ramblin Rose (Aneira)
How long have you owned Irish Setters?
Nearly 7 years - but dreamed of owning them for 25 years
About Me:
I live in Perth, Western Australia, and have always had a passion for Irish Setters. It took me 30 years to get my first - and it was WELL worth the wait! Currently showing my Irish boy, and have just registered my breeding prefix, Anmadradh, with hopes of beginning my own kennel in the near future.

5 Years, 5 Best of Breeds in a Row for Fionni

Posted on October 10, 2011 at 1:00am 12 Comments

The Perth Royal Show is over for another year, and I am happy to report that my boy, Aust Ch Linleymvorne Huntsman (Fionni) was Best of Breed for the 5th straight year - a super achievement for any dog in any breed.  He was then short-listed to the final 6 gundogs for Best in Group, for the second year in a row.

Only six Irish were entered this year, and only two of those - my two - showed up (lucky for everyone else, since mine have since come down with kennel…

Still as naughty as the day she arrived ;-)

Critique My New Irish!

Posted on July 21, 2011 at 5:03am 17 Comments

Here is my new Irish!  What do you all think?  Okay, a bit of a mismark...and the feathering is a little lighter than the body coat.

(I don't remember the last time I spent 3 hours playing with play dough.  It's way more fun than real life!  Toddlers get all the…

Junior Handler in the making...

Posted on June 15, 2011 at 7:01am 10 Comments

Thought I'd share this little video - taken on my friend's i-phone (thanks Andrea!) - of my daughter, Niamh, in her first ever junior handler's class.  Not even 2 years old!

The bitch she is showing is of course my lovely Aneira (Jingles x Molly), and judge is Michelle Briggs.

I was so proud of her, and we had such great fun!  Thank you, too, to Michelle for being so patient with my little one.  She is normally extremely shy around anyone new, so I was half…

Yes OK Melinda, Ill go for the swap Sweden in Winter-For sunny Australia! (You would soon change your mind!)

Great sun for grey and dark and windy and all that! Although I have to admit that at this moment, the sun is shining...must make the most of it and go for a brisk walk in all my winter-gear...and clumsy boots and thick jacket. Yet there is no snow...
But spring and summer is GREAT here.
No better place.
So I hope you get to see it!

Hi Melinda,
Thank you for your comment. I love my boys. We have the setters now for appr. 15 years and I could not live without them. Duke is the most handsome one, but I love them all very dearly. I used to live in Brisbane for nearly 9 years and moved back to Holland in 1990. Have never been to Perth though. Here in Holland we live in the middle of the forest, which is great for all of us.
Do you have bitches ?
kind regards
Ali.

Yes, we were back last night - 3 am this time, and advised to be there for 9.30pm!!!
The idea of the two shows running in conjunction was good, but practically, it did not work at all.
Next year will be worse, because they will change the weekend, and it will run Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Hi Melinda,
Thanks for your comment about Girly !
It's true, she is 99% like Dooley and 1% like my lovely Chickadee.
But i seek the 1% like Chickadee ;-)
