Puppies do make the time flow bye and our "A" litter is already 4,5 months old. So it was about time one of them gets his first chance in the show ring. I was very happy to be able to show
M'Eudail Ars today for his new owner Miss Ajda Slavec. This being a strangley obedient litter (somehow not the kind of setters I usually breed), he actually behaved throughout the whole thing - ran with all 4 on the ground, did not chew on his leash and…

Shannon was trained and fully qualified as a Search and Rescue dog. I remember her very first call up one night at 23.00hrs to go searching…

Thanks to everybody for congratulations!
I see I have to explain in what consist those tests...There is some commotion with nomenclature because if translate literally from polish, it would be: 'field trials'. And it isn't the true field trial but the test for young dogs (9-24 months) of natural predispositons to hunting: pointing, nose, style of searching, speedness, obedience are judged in the field and swimming in the water of course. Swimming without retrieving - you can throw…

Yesterday, we held our Setter & Spaniel Society of WA specialty show. Despite the threatening clouds, the weather held, and it was a lovely day down at the CAWA.
My boy, Fionni, surprised and thrilled us by winning Best Australian-bred Exhibit in Show, and then went on to win Best Setter in Show. The judge, Mrs Magaret Joyce, from Victoria, spoke to us after the show and was very complimentary in her opinions of our…

With famous Henric Fryckstrand (kennel Dewmist) judging the golden retrievers, we took off to the show in Ada in Vojvodina/Northern Serbia yesterday with my golden friends. Dogs from group 7 were judged by Zarko Mikalacki from Serbia, a name I never heard before - but the girls had place in the car for us and were good company, so why staying at home? :-)
The 2 Hungarian goldens both won their junior classes (with MANY dogs entered!) and the…

Normally our dog training group (search & rescue training) spends their sunday morning in 'lowland' forests. Last weekend was special as we had a two day training session in the mountains of the Berner Oberland .
In Switzerland there is a competitive form of 'search and rescue' training where the dogs are trained to search an area for 'missing' people or articles with human scent. Our…

Althought our english type wasn't popular we gained judge's laurels.
At Club Show judged Aleksander Kulesza

Today Vilda (
Röde Baronens Glory Days) once again got a first prize in obedience, this time even better than the last two...182 point out of 200 possible. She ended up in second place, this time beaten by a poodle...so she now has the qualifications in obedience I wanted (
LP1). The three first prizes were taken in three compertitions in a row.
I have entered two more compertitions (in case I needed more than one shot at…
