First Australian Points for Millcroft Moon Dreamer (Imp UK)

Just a quick brag to say that my lovely Miss Bridget had a great weekend.

 Saturday, Bridget was awarded with her first points towards her Australian Championship Title.....

and she also was awarded Runner up of Breed

and Junior in Group!!!

The judge commented on what lovely movement she had!

 Bridget was awarded with her points again today, so she is now on her way to becoming an Australian Champion.

 Way to go Bridget!!!

The Australian Point Score System works this way:

Every bitch and dog over 6 months of age is eligible to be awarded points towards their championship title if:

A)     The Judge believes they are worthy of attaining the Title;

B)      They are the best bitch or dog in the breed on the day;

C)      The minimum points awarded is 5 points plus 1 point for every bitch or dog entered who is eligible for the challenge.  ie:  If there are 5 bitches (over 6 months entered and shown) then the best bitch would receive challenge points of 10.

D)     Both dogs and bitches are awarded their points separately;

E)      The Best of Breed winner then also wins points of the opposite sex;  ie:  5 bitches and 5 dogs – the Best of breed would win 15 points as they take the 10 for their dog challenge, but an additional  5 points for the bitches that he has also beaten.

F)      Dogs who win a Best in Group (if the Group is of 25 eligible dogs or more) wins a maximum of 25 points at that show towards their Title.

G)      100 points has to be awarded before they are eligible to apply for their Australian Championship Title.

Hi Camilla, check out my other blog "Nanyima Boys Brag".

We had terrible weather and a couple of absentees, so there were only 3 Irish at the shows this weekend.

The "In Group" awards are against all other gundogs showing ie: Cocker Spaniels; English Springer Spaniels; German Shorthaired Pointers; Labradors, etc.

Hi Cheryl, well done wth Bridget. We are moving back to the North Island and I am going to bring Strider out for a couple of shows - he is now almost 9 but looks fantastic. Dear Richmond is suffering from a horrible skin allergy and we fear it is stress related to the eathquakes. He had a biospy today so hoping for a better diagnosis and effective medication. While he was at the Vet I did some deliveries across the eastern suburbs of Christchurch - it is bloody awful there. Moving here was our dream and Christchurch my favourite city in NZ, well it is all over now. Can't imagine that it will be rebuilt to any where near its former glory, certainly not in my life time.
