The last three days, it has snowed almost continuously. It has probably come down 30 centimeters of snow, and with the snow we had in the past is the depth of the snow almost 80 centimeters now.
Fortunately, it is cold (15 degrees below zero) so the snow is more as a powder and not so heavy and wet.Our dogs, especially the young ones love to squabble and chase each other in the snow.
Here are some photos.…

Cleaning up old pictures, it appeared I’m celebrating a centennial in Irish setters.
Fifty years ago me (around four years) and my brother Wim emptied our saving boxes and bought Rex. His mischief inspired me to write as a kid plus making pictures, books are still there. That is why I have to thank my Irish setters because that inspiration lead to my daily bread (reporter now editor) lifelong plus interest for their history teacher of…

Found out the other day that one of my fosters has discospondylosis. So sad. Vet says she has probably 6 months to live. I feel so bad for her. Before I got her the former owner kept both sisters in a run of about 10 x 10. Rarely let them out, and didn't socialize them at all. Now she and her sister get the run of 3 whole acres and get to socialize with all sorts of buddies. When I got them they were scared all the time and very lethargic. Now,since being with me since July, they are happy all…

The alarm clock went off at 5.00 am on sat 31st Jan 09. The temperature was already hot outside so I thought " Dog show no way". My youngest son bounded into the bedroom " come on mum get up or we'll be late for the show". I am so thankful he did. The judge was Kate Keely from New South Wales and we certainly had a day to…
