Finnish Lapland is covered with snow, part 2.

Today we were walking in wonderland, so it felt. The weather was a m a z i n g. The main reason for a walk in wonderland was to hunt for grouse but none was found, even though our "wide rangers" were working their hearts out.

Finnish Lapland is covered with snow

Finally we have it, snow. Everything looks like we live in a dreamland. The wild animals that have changed their feathers and furry coats to match the snowywhite color are in much better hide-away from the predators...

May I present to the first pictures of setters in snow for this fall... first my sixpack :)

Show dogs Working

I just have to write and say how proud I am of Saffy (Kirkavagh Darara At Mayfred), she went on her first training day (for working dogs) yesterday, I have posted some pictures on my page, she did as they say 'took to it like a duck to water' a wee bit too enthusiastic for the quail in a cage, but she will learn, it was interesting to see her casting the field that just came naturally. I think that everyone there was pleasantly surprised at a 'pure' show dog doing what came naturally. I must… Continue

Lohmann's Momo wins CACIT

Feels like heaven. My husband just called and said that our homebred Momo (daughter of Lohmann's Erna, who is out of FTCh. Lohmann's Dietze x FTCh. Lohmann's Carlotta) has managed to get her final points for the title of a GERMAN HUNTING CHAMPION today and not only just, but with a strong first price including CACIT. Actually I can't remember when last an IS won CACIT in Germany...

This lady is simply amazing, especially as she is just back from maternity.

O.K. time for me to prepare… Continue

Hortobágy Cup and Saint Hubert for Hunters in Hungary, Hortobágy - new photos on my page

You can see other photos on my page, thanks to the official photographer of the event.

This weekend was held Hungary's biggest water and field competition and the Saint Hubert for practical hunters at the Hortobágy, Hungary's most famous National Park, called also the Puszta (lowland of Hungary).

This year I decided to enter Andy instead of the Hortobágy Cup, at the Saint Hubert handled by my hunter friend (owner of the pointer bitch, you can see on a lot of photos on my page) who… Continue
