Spent the weekend with my Weimaraner friend, Rosemary, (and about a thousand other people!) at a Chris Cox Horsemanship seminar this past weekend. Thank goodness the arena was air-conditioned as it was 100 degrees outside!
While my TWH, Frosty, is just wonderful, his rider is not so! Learned a lot and got fired up to work with Frosty more often on specific things which will make us more of a team.
He's a good handler's horse and has a terrific slow gait, but need to teach him…

http://www.akc.org/pubs/gazette/ if you go to this website you can see that in the Sept. issue of the AKC Gazette they've done a article on the Irish Setter. My Abbott's brother, Killian is on the front cover , and they put the ocean picture of Abbott in the article with several of Abbott's old war buddies that he used to fight it out with in the show ring. Sully who was number one Irish Setter in 2004 I believe, Liam who was in the top 10 for…

Sending all my thoughts to her sister Lohmann's ONDRA, who is on the transit from Frankfurt to Seoul/South Korea, where she will be embraced by Lohmann's Klaus. Hope she has a safe journey and will find as many pheasants as her older kennelmate;-)))

I entered our boy "Guiness" to two shows in Bosnia last weekend. His sister "Luna" was also entered, but her owners realised at the last moment that their passports were nowhere to be found. So "better luck next time" and we were off. Not a long trip, under 300 km, but with the Friday traffic it took us more than 4 hours. We were stuck in traffic jams, waited on the borders... The weekend certainly did not start well.
Saturday morning looked rather grim - very cloudy, a few raindrops.…

Back from BC and had a wonderful time. The weather co-operated for the most part except when we were trialing!!!! We took in a trial at Courtney/Comox BC. The people were very welcoming to the Saskatchewan folks and the red ones! Most couldn't get over the size of Zena....Yes she is a big girl at 29.5" to the withers and she holds herself quite proudly. One comment I heard alot was how graceful she was. We did well in the events and qualified in Masters Jumpers.
Once back we headed…

Hi everyone,
I am new to this group but am looking forward to meeting many new and interesting Irish Setter people. I have been interested in the breed for quite sometime and am hoping to import a couple from Ireland next fall. I have been showing dogs for 13 years and am now interested in turning towards the hunting side of things. I am looking forward to everything the Irish world holds.

Last weekend I went with my little girl Blossom to a small show (no CAC or CACIB) in Zoetermeer. She was best of breed and later in the ring she became best in group!!! I was very excited...she's only 12 months old and she competed with dogs which where a lot older. After the groups we went into the ring for best in show. She became last of this group, but Blossom have the great result 10nd best in show of the 127 dogs. I am so proud at her!!! :-)…
